These Loewe Candles Will Bring Cosiness to Your Homes

When it’s autumn, and the days are getting shorter, nothing feels better than staying at home and lighting up your favourite fashion candle. This season, Loewe is proposing three new options in highly textured terracotta pots, glazed by hand, created in collaboration between Jonathan Anderson, LOEWE's artistic director, and Nuria Cruelles, the company's perfumer.

Called Textura, - in reference to the classic times, when philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle were defining the ideological scope and practical tools of aesthetic thought, and used the Latin term Textura to describe the tactile sensation caused by touching a surface, and the simultaneous perception of form and feel - the three new candles come in eye-catching pots. 

Mimosa, for example, comes in a terracotta vessel with glazed yellow markings of the flower’s inflorescences, and its scent evokes the Acacia dealbata-an evergreen tree native to Australia and reveals some juicy, aquatic notes of melon over time. Meanwhile, Tuberose is available in a bone-coloured terracotta pot inspired by the plant’s colloquial name” “bone flower”, and it smells like Ageve Amice - a perennial herbaceous plant native to Mexico: when you burn it, its white floral notes unfold to unveil fresh green facets. Finally, Dendrochilum Magnum Orchid comes in a stylish black terracotta pot: a tribute to a rare tropical orchid native to Southeast Asia, this fragrance blends bright floral notes with a powdery iris finish.
