Miu Miu strikes again with a new campaign for the autumn-winter 2024 season. Entitled “Individual Moments” it focuses on how clothes affect the lives of ordinary people, and vice versa, how people’s personalities influence their wardrobe choices. From masculine to feminine, from childhood to maturity, and from formal to informal. Bref, it’s the Miu Miu magic that makes ordinary look extraordinary, that we absolutely loved at their latest show during Paris Fashion Week.
Shot by Zoe Ghertner and styled by one and only Lotta Volkova, the campaign is set against a white backdrop and a vintage whirlpool carpet, and features a curation of highly distinctive chairs from different eras, echoing the fusion of time, place, memory, function and fashion seen in the collection itself. What is more, this time it’s all about portrait images, and Miu Miu gives centre stage to a range of multidisciplinary feminine talents: think model and actress Cara Delevigne, singers Ethel Cain, MINNIE from K-pop band I-dle, and Charlotte Cardin, rapper Little Simz and model Caitlin Soetenda, that all embody the modern femininity and the notion of powerful Miu Miu super girls.
So what about the looks? The Miu Miu gang is dressed in everyday clothes such as skinny jeans, styled with a cropped trucker denim jacket, a deconstructed little black dress, puffer coats, crispy white shorts, cotton poplin pyjamas and coats in glossy shearling that mimic mink. There is also a special focus on accessories: leather gloves, elegant strings of pearls, mary-jane pumps and the hottest fashion pair of the season: sneakers in aged leather from the newest New Balance x Miu Miu collab. And of course, no Miu Miu campaign can be complete without the bags. For the autumn-winter season, Miuccia Prada focuses on the eternally elegant Aventure bag and the irreverent Joie bag (meaning “Joy” in English), both inspired by the archive designs and adjusted for modern-day in soft, shiny nappa leather and embellished with gold metal hardware and elongated straps.
