It’s the make-up collaboration everybody will be talking about this autumn: the French beauty specialist Guerlain joins forces with the Italian fashion powerhouse Pucci. This unique collection, developed by Camille Miceli, Pucci Artistic Director, and Violette Serrat (known as Violette in short), Guerlain Creative Make-Up director, celebrates colour in its boldest dimension.
Cheerful and eye-catching, the make-up collection features a range of classic Guerlain products in jewel-like cases - think Rouge G lipsticks, Ombres G eyeshadow quad, Terracotta bronzing powder, Parure Gold Cushion Foundation and Meteorites powder pearls, all revisited for the occasion with the iconic Marmo Pattern in the psychedelic colour palette. Designed by the House’s founder Emilio Pucci in 1968, it represents the ripples of the sun on the Mediterranean Sea and has been synonymous with the brand ever since. Bref, it’s a collector’s item.
What about the colours? Relaunched earlier this year and enriched with smoothing and plumping active ingredients such as lily oleo-extract, the Rouge G lipstick is available in two highly pigmented shades, carefully selected by Violette: a plum shade 45 Marmo Twist with a satiny finish, and a matte red 510 Le Rouge Vibrant with an ultra-velvety finish. You can use them separately or together for a head-turning two-tone lips look.
For the Ombres G 045 Marmo Vibe eye-shadow palette, Violette went bold and selected four matte shades in perfect couture harmony. Together with Camille Micelli, she decided to take a bet on the intensity of orange and violet, which serves as a foil to the radical contrast of black and white. Meanwhile, the bestseller Terracota 03 bronzing powder has been reimagined with a darker satiny tone and pink pearlisers to mimic the iconic Marmo pattern.
As for the Parure Gold Cushion Foundation and the Meteorites powder pearls that come with a brush, it’s all about the packaging. While all of the colour combos are the ones you know already - 02 Rosé pastel shades for Meteorites and 00N shade for foundation - it’s the cases that have been going through a Pucci makeover, adopting the rippling colours of the Marmo print.
Produced in very limited quantities and with prices ranging from 40 to 100 euros, the collection will be available on August 26, online and in a selection of Guerlain and Pucci stores. Don’t forget to set the notification in your Google calendar!
