On Sunday Night all eyes will be on Yanina Couture, who is donating her unique bespoke design to one of the main charity auctions of the Croisette, the Global Gift Gala.
The Cannes Film Festival is always much more than just a cinema gathering. It’s also an occasion to celebrate the beauty of life for a good cause in one of the most beautiful places in the world and bring attention to important issues, while all global stars are in town. For its 10th edition, the Global Gift Gala takes over la Croisette and its iconic La Môme Plage. An evening of glamour and fundraiser for a good cause, bringing awareness to the most vulnerable and raising funds for women, children and families in need, the Global Gift Gala is hosted by Maria Bravo, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Chair of The Global Gift initiative. Tonight, she is accompanied by actress, director and activist Eva Longoria, who will serve once again as the Honorary Chair of The Global Gift initiative, and signer and actress Christina Milan, who will be giving a special performance during the evening.
Among the highlights of the auction, to be conducted by British presenter Jonny Gould, is a unique dress from Yanina Couture. “The Global Gift Gala is the perfect occasion to join forces for a good cause”, explains Daria Yanina from Yanina Couture. “My mum has been friends with Maria and Eva for a long time and is a big supporter of their charity initiatives. She already participated in the Global Gift Gala several times in Dubai, Paris and Cannes. It’s an honour to bring her designs back to the Croisette to help raise awareness and make an impact for children, women and families in need”.
This time, Yulia Yanina donated to the auction one of her designs from her Phoenix collection, dedicated to the mythical bird, symbolic of renewal and rebirth, presented for the first time in Paris during Haute Couture fashion week, back in January. “The collection is about giving women wings, to cover the scars on their souls and bodies with beauty and love,” the designer mused in her show notes.
The classic evening gown in timeless black velvet is adorned with thousands of sparkling crystals on the front part, it takes around eight weeks to produce one of these bespoke designs. Everything is hand-made in Yanina Couture studio.
Richard Orlinski’s Wild Kong, Jaimes Monge’s artwork, an exclusive facial and body experience at the Lucia Aesthetic & Dermatology Center in Dubai, and a unique chance to attend the Global Gift Gala in Marbella in July in the good company of Eva Longoria are also among other one-of-a-kind lots presented at the auction. All of the proceeds from the Gala night will be donated to children, women and families in need through social projects and charitable organisations, specialising in health, education, social inclusion and empowerment.
