We are getting through mid-February, and love is in the air. But forget the roses and chocolates – Courrèges serves a fresh, modern take on love with a campaign that strips back clichés and celebrates human connection in all forms, the French fashion house delivers an aesthetic masterclass in minimalism, subtlety, and style.
Shot by Stef Mitchell and styled by Marie Chaix, the spring-summer 2025 campaign’s imagery moves beyond the traditional to embrace a universal concept of love. The focus is on togetherness and human connection in all forms—whether romantic, platonic or somewhere in between. This campaign feels timely and relevant in a world where love is increasingly fluid and evolving. It’s not about grand gestures; it’s about quiet, intimate moments captured with honesty and style.
The collection itself is a striking interplay of symbolism and individuality. Red, the classic colour of love, takes centre stage but is contrasted with metallic and raw textures, reinforcing the house’s industrial-chic identity. The colour appears in two shade variations in the collection, a classic bright red, and a deep burgundy. The designs feature deconstructed silhouettes, soft leathers, and structured tailoring, evoking a refreshing symbiosis of strength and tenderness, with pieces that prioritize comfort, cosiness and intimacy without compromising on style.
This love campaign builds on the brand’s signature graphic minimalism and expansive white space, yet introduces a more intimate, body-centric approach to composition. The imagery evokes the dreamlike quality of masterpieces of classic painting such as René Magritte’s The Lovers or Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss – a visual language of closeness and connection. Wrapped in a single sculptural leather jacket – their faces obscured, two lovers share a kiss. Standing together in an oversized pair of sweatpants, each occupying one leg, they embrace. Entwined in a red sweater, two bodies merge into one.
