Double Trouble: why NANUSHKA Teamed up With Zara

The highly anticipated Nanushka x Zara collection is here! Following recent collaborations with Stefano Pilatti, Harry Lambert and Kate Moss, now Zara joins forces with fashion’s sustainability powerhouse: Budapest-inspired, eco-conscious label Nanushka. Launched on October 28th and available online and in select Zara stores, this unique collection offers a range of effortless menswear staples (so girls, you will have to pick up from boys’ wardrobes), minimalist jewellery, and refined home decor objects that embody both brands' commitment to elegance, innovation, functionality, and sustainability.

Here is everything you need to know about the collection.

WHY NANUSHKA?

Founded in Budapest by Sandra Sándor in 2005 with three main factors in mind quality, progressive design and sustainability, Nanushka has built an image that mirrors its values: best craftsmanship, effortless yet fashionable styles, attention to detail, and meticulously chosen finest eco-friendly fabrics. Known for earthy tones, relaxed silhouettes, and minimalistic shapes, the label offers a sleek, modern wardrobe for both women and men that combines traditional and contemporary design, with an approach that embraces the beauty of imperfection through a refined bohemian perspective, inspired by travel, innovation, and respect for heritage. So it seems only natural that Zara, one of fashion’s largest powerhouses, which is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2040, decided to team up with Nanushka for a special project, centred around the ideas of sustainability.

SO, WHY NOW?

For Zara and Nanushka, this partnership aligns with their shared vision of creating an accessible wardrobe without sacrificing style and working towards a more sustainable future of fashion. With Nanushka’s signature craftsmanship and Zara’s emphasis on quality materials for its premium lines and universal reach (one of the best well-known fashion labels in the world, Zara has over 1800 stores all over the globe), the collection brings a touch of Hungarian artistry to the global stage, blending traditional aesthetics with modern sensibilities. The collections created in partnership with Zara draw heavily on an approach that Sándor defines as “East meets West”. What is more, Zara is already well-versed in the home decor department with their Zara Home branch, which makes Zara the perfect collaborator for Nanushka, for which this collection is the first step in the homeware universe.

WHAT’S INSIDE: SILHOUETTES AND STYLES

Sorry, girls, it’s only for the boys! Well, apart from kidding, this collection is all about menswear staples (but, no, worries, they will look as cool on the girls as they do on the boys). The collection focuses on soft, oversized tailoring - think jackets with relaxed lines, loose trousers, pleated shorts, and structured wool coats with subtle leather and metallic detailing. The knitwear features playful, tactile elements, including heritage-inspired scarf patterns, textured casentino wool, and even knitted denim. Essential layering pieces such as satin shirts with built-in scarves and coordinated cotton sets toe the line between comfort and elegance, while soft leather mules and mid-height boots add to the line’s free-spirited, bohemian essence.

JEWELLERY HIGHLIGHTS

Nanushka’s jewellery brings a unique aesthetic, drawing on Sandra Sándor’s affinity for organic shapes and historical motifs. Silver-toned metal pieces with Bauhaus influences and jade-green resin designs reflect Hungarian and Eastern heritage, featuring florals and engravings that add artisanal beauty to rings, earrings, ear cuffs, and necklaces.

NANUSHKA FOR YOUR HOME

For the first time, Nanushka is introducing a full home collection in collaboration with Zara. Rich wood tones, marble surfaces, and organic rattan details appear alongside vintage-inspired floral ceramics and recycled aluminium candleholders. Other highlights include sculptural, totemic candles, textured marble side tables, and bold rugs and cushions that play with texture and colour.
