Even if you don’t know her name yet, chances are high that you have spent the summer listening to her tubes: “Espresso” and “Please, Please, Please”. At 25 years old, American singer, actress and Disney Channel alumni Sabrina Carpenter has become an icon of her generation, and now she wants to take on a new role of a beauty mastermind with the launch of her third fragrance in an eye-catching chocolate bar-shaped flacon.
Just as in music, Carpenter knows her audience. Aiming to please the Gen-Z audience, that is listening to her songs on repeat, the singer places her bet on trendy sugary notes and sweet scents. Unsurprisingly, she started her beauty venture with a fragrance called accordingly “Sweet Tooth” based on the notes of ginger, chocolate marshmallow, vanilla and Chantilly cream. Created in collaboration with Scent Beauty - the beauty giant behind best selling scents for star signers Kylie Minogue and Dolly Parton and brands such as Mikimoto or Ron Dorff - back in 2022 Carpenter's first fragrance became an instant success among her fans. Later the singer launched another scent “Caramel Dream”, a gentle mix of dark chocolate beans, caramelised amber, sugared lemon, almond milk and orange zest, which followed the success of the first one and is frequently sold out on the Scent Beauty’s website.
Now, Carpenter is ready for a new chapter. Her third fragrance entitled “Cherry Baby” and it comes in a signature falcon reminiscent of a chocolate bar, reimagined for the occasion in cherry red hue. What’s inside? A mix of cherries and dark chocolate, with a touch of red poppy and peony. There is vanilla orchid and a bit of sensual musk, as well. The formula also features glazed apple, plum nectar and brown sugar. Just the description makes you want to scream: I want to try it!
Authentic, playful and mouth-watering, Carpenter’s perfumes are seductive but not too much. The singer in a comment for Business of Fashion said that: “It’s something that we as young women can wear while growing into adult women. “Cherry Baby” is just sweet enough.” Her perfumes are also quite affordable for a Gen-Z crowd: the chocolate bar bottles retail at $49,99 for 75ml and $29,99 for 30ml, while the body mists are available for $9,99.
We bet the perfumes will also be on sale during her upcomingglobal Short ‘N Sweet Tour. Watch this space.
